Hello! I'm a Highland Lass, and am extremely passionate about the lands in which have been born and raised. Having worked in the print trade for several years (my first degree is in Publishing), I decided to "bite the bullet" and return to Higher Education to study where my passion has always lay; undertaking an undergraduate degree in Scottish History and then a Masters qualification specifically in the History of the Highlands and Islands. I am especially fascinated in the mediaeval period, and the relationship between the Scottish Crown and the troublesome (depending how you view history) MacDonald Lordship of the Isles (c. 1350-1493); so if the majestic ruined castles, fantastic remains of the impressive ecclesiastical centres and tales of power struggles and clashes appeals to you...I can relate!
