A Warm Welcome.
My name is Debbie. I am a qualified & accredited Blue Badge Guide. I have a great knowledge of and enthusiasm for my native country - Scotland. I want to share that with you.
My background includes - 8 years teaching 11 year olds in Edinburgh, working abroad, owning a substantial business for 25 years, providing driving & guest services for the Edinburgh International Film Festival for a decade, completing TEFL course (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and meanwhile Playing Traditional Scottish Music professionally and attaining the STGA (Scottish Tourist Guides Association) Blue Badge Qualification.
I have travelled extensively worldwide and I know what I expect from a tourist guide so this enables me to give you the best possible experience in Scotland. I am based in the capital city of Edinburgh, which is a great and stunning starting point for all tours of Scotland. I guide throughout ALL of Scotland. Whether by walking, car or coach, I love showing off our castles, our palaces, our history and the breathtaking scenery around Scotland. I particularly like the stories of people and traditions. I completed a whisky course in 2016 and I have been a member of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society for 35 years. I enjoy working with special interest groups whether whisky, or a specific clan, or Harry Potter, or music, or Outlander, or gardens, or history in general - the list goes on and on. I am confident working with a variety of visitors from families, leisure, corporate to incentives. I own a Toyota RAV4 AWD Hybrid 2020, which is fully insured, to take you anywhere you desire.
As a native, I can show you traditions and parts of Edinburgh and Scotland you might otherwise not find. My knowledge is extensive however I am not a walking, talking encyclopaedia. It is important that your experience is informative, smooth and most of all enjoyable. I want you to love Scotland as much as I do.
