About Me

I live in the Hillfoots village of Menstrie - on the A91 road from Stirling to St Andrews within easy reach of the motorway system going north, south, east and west from Stirling. There is also easy access to the train network from Stirling and Alloa.
My interests include membership of Soroptimist International; BPW SYNE (Business and Professional Women); the Alloa Trefoil Guild; the Stirling Decorative and Fine Arts Society and the Friends of Alloa Tower - have held or currently hold Committee positions in each of them.

Qualifications

Prior to becoming a Tourist Guide and now being semi-retired I qualified as a Youth and Community Worker from Jordanhill College back in 1975. For the next 35+ years, with ten years out in the voluntary sector, I worked in local government - mainly in community centres organising activities for pre-5s, primary and secondary school-age young people; adults and senior citizens. Latterly I was responsible for managing six community centres in Clackmannanshire - this involved staff and facilities management as well as co-ordinating activities. When working in the voluntary sector I was working with children, young people and adults with special needs as well as able-bodied helpers.

Gained a MBA in Public Sector Management from Stirling University in 2000
