Hello, I'm Jane Cook (nee Clouston), a Green Badge Guide with a huge enthusiasm for sharing the splendour that is Orkney. My ancestor Hakon Klo arrived here by longship in 1141, settling in the beautiful West Mainland. I stay just a couple of miles from his home right in the Heart of Neolithic Orkney. So I'm immersed in the history, heritage and culture of these islands. Much of my life has been spent in Religious Education, working with young people, clergy and teachers. I thrive on imparting knowledge and sharing stories in a meaningful and accessible way. Orkney is stunning! There is far more to see and do than you can possibly imagine.
