I live in Perth in central Scotland, within an hour's drive to Edinburgh or Glasgow. I am experienced, knowledgeable and flexible and love taking visitors around my country.
I grew up in Dundee on the east coast of Scotland and moved to Glasgow in 1970 to study music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. After graduating, I joined the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and subsequently the Scottish Chamber Orchestra as an orchestral violinist playing throughout the UK and around the world.
Meanwhile, my interest in Scotland's history, culture and amazing landscapes grew as I pursued my hobbies of hill-walking, sailing and cycling around the country. After completing the Munros (mountains over 3,000ft) in 1994 I knew I wanted to share this passion, and so to this end I qualified as a hillwalking guide in 1996 and a Blue Badge Guide in 2000. Since then I have had the privilege of guiding people from all over the world, not only to our main tourist sites in the cities, but throughout the Highlands and Islands. There is so much to explore, let me help you discover some of our hidden gems.
