Morag Dunbar

Languages:

Originally from Kirkcaldy in the ancient Kingdom of Fife, I am now based in Edinburgh where I first came to gain a degree in Scottish History from the University of Edinburgh.

I have a passion for Scotland and its culture and am particularly interested in traditional music and song. At present I help run Balerno Folk Club where I occasionally sing (and play guitar).

I am never happier that when driving visitors round the country and experiencing the amazing variety of scenery. More details of this can be found by clicking on the tours button below.

  • Tours

The main types of tour I offer now are driver-guiding. I have my own Ford Galaxy people-carrier with Hire and Reward Insurance. I can offer one-day tours for up to 6 people and extended tours for up to 4 people travelling with luggage. If your group is larger I can arrange to have access to a bigger vehicle and extend my own insurance to cover it.

I love planning itineraries and these can be tailor-made to suit your requirements - to include what you, the visitor, wants to do or see. You may have an interest in food or drink, in whisky, in golf, or just in Scotland and its wonderful scenery. Genealogy tours are also fun and I am happy to help point people in the right direction to finding out more about their ancestors so that they can find as many family-related places as possible when they come.

I am also happy to offer themed tours eg related to the TV series, "Outlander" or the actor, Gerard Butler, just to mention two options.

Countryside walking is also something I can include in a tour. I still enjoy the occasional city walking tour as well.
