Retired Civil Engineer Originally from Southwold Suffolk. Lived in Shetland from 1973. Work took me all over Shetland including the remote isles. Worked on wide range of schemes especially water but from 1998 I project managed and eventually manage Shetland Heat Energy and Power which is one of the largest district heating schemes in the UK. Waste is burnt to heat water which is pumped around Lerwick to heat hospitals, schools, leisure centre, businesses and housing.
Active in community activities especially Sandwick. Collector of popular music especially in vinyl. Collector of vintage model railways. Trustee of Shetland AmenityTrust. Well known around Shetland. Have been on TV and radio quiz programmes. Have been on radio music programmes. Active in environmental projects. Very knowledgeable on the USA
