I was a teacher of French and Italian for 38 years, working in Edinburgh and in East Lothian where I was Head of Modern Languages at Knox Academy. For the last 20 years I have also worked for the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority, formerly the Scottish Examinations Board) as an examiner. I have worked as a part-time guide since my student days at Edinburgh University and now I am retired I am available throughout the year. I am interested in outdoor activities and whilst a teacher did training in mountain leadership and ski instruction as well as basic mountain rescue. My interests now focus on hillwalking, gardening and foreign travel. I particularly enjoy working with French and Italian groups of all ages.
