I know what it is like to arrive in a new country and have high expectations of a tourist guide, having travelled extensively and lived overseas for many years. Every time I meet a new client, I aim to make their holiday the most memorable they have ever had and, to do that, I pay great attention to detail, undertaking thorough and comprehensive preparations. I have huge experience with other cultures – as a nurse, midwife and fundraiser I have lived and worked in the USA, France, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Bahrain, Brunei, Zambia and Botswana – and am extremely mindful to work appropriately within cultural boundaries. I make sure I understand each group’s dynamics and aim to create a tour that is fulfilling and interesting for every single member. As a mother of three I also understand how important it is that the children have a good time on holiday too – broadening their knowledge is important, of course, but so is having fun. I have a good sense of humour and a deep love and appreciation for Scotland and all we have to offer our visitors, regularly updating my knowledge and enhancing my skills through continuous professional development. Above all, I want to share the beauty and the history, the stories, the culture and the people of the land of my birth with our visitors, to create wonderful memories for them that will last a lifetime.
