Tourist Guiding is my passion and joy! I look forward to taking you on a tour that you will enjoy and remember. Showing and revealing to you all the so many special places that Scotland has to offer. Not only the big highlights, but also those special places that only a local will know, off the beaten track where eagles fly, otters swim, and deer roam! My manner and style is to tell the story of Scotland and of the place being visited, through stories geographic, geological, historical, and the folk tales too, which impart not only factual accounts but also give heart and emotional connectivity, so that a sense of place is gained. I will devise for you a tour that you want, for as short or as long as you wish, for half a day, a whole day, or multiple days. I'm a driver-guide, and I'll drive you personally, if you wish, and I am qualified to drive a Passenger Carrying Vehicle up to 16 passengers. I have lived and studied in Stuttgart and Freiburg im Breisgau, and I am fluent in German. I started guiding whilst I was still teaching (history and geography), during my summer holidays. Friends asked me to show them Scotland so I devised tours to suit their wishes and drove them in minibuses. My first tour was in 2011 for 3 weeks with 15 folk!! That was how I became really enthusiastic about sharing my love for Scotland with people. In 2016 I started working with a market-leading small group tour company and enrolled on the STGA 'Blue Badge' guide training programme which was completed in Spring 2018.
