Hi, and welcome!
I'm a Scot who loves to tell stories about this land of ours, particularly about its wildlife, its landscape and how it looks now, and why. From the forests and the waters, to the fabulous food and drink we produce, and the farmers and crofters that produce it.
I'd like to introduce you to some of my favourite places, be they beaches, rocks, mountains or glens, with their great stories to tell of Scotland now, and Scotland past. My degree in Cultural History draws me to the history of the people, and how we live, and lived.
I've worked in the outdoor world for all of my working life. From being the Education Manager at the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET), and therefore running the Discovery Centre at the Royal Highland Show, which celebrated its 200th Show in 2022, to being steeped in Outdoor Learning and how that brings things to life. The Highland Show is the major agricultural show in Scotland and attracts about 190000 visitors over 4 days!
I'm a keen outdoors person and like to introduce people to gentle walks that open up areas of Scotland that you may not otherwise get to. I hold a current Hill and Moorland Leader (HML) qualification, and can take you walking, up hill and down valleys off the beaten track. I hold an Outdoor First Aid qualification. I've lived and worked in the four largest cities in Scotland, and have family all up the East Coast, and other family and friends all up the West Coast, including many of our islands.
As you might expect from all of this, I'm keen to explore how we can minimise our environmental impact and am actively working towards the Green Tourism Award bronze level.
However you want to tailor your holiday and visit to Scotland, please just ask. We'll have a chat, and work out the best way for you to see and immerse yourself in this brilliant land.
