I am a native Scot with strong family links through the Clan Chisholm and Inverness, in the highlands of Scotland, to the Capital City of Edinburgh and down to the Scottish Borders Region. Links with the Highlands include a 5xGreat Grandfather, Alexander, 16th Chief of Keppoch, who died leading the clan MacDonald at Culloden .

I am married to Trish and we are fortunate to have four grown up children and I have a granddaughter of 15 years.

After completing a police career of more than 30 years I retired to pursue my passion for Scotland, her heritage and history. I enrolled in an intensive two year course run by The University of Edinburgh in conjunction with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association and earned a diploma in Scottish Studies. Now a fully qualified Blue Badge Tourist Guide for Scotland and her Islands I am at your service offering bespoke driver guided tours and Whisky Tours.

I am a Member of The Institute of Brewing and Distilling and hold a General Cerificate in Distilling. I am also a qualified Whisky Ambassador through the Scotch Whisky Experience and have had the pleasure of visiting most of the Malt Whisky Distilleries and Grain Distilleries of Scotland.
