About Me

Welcome to my page! I started guiding over 20 years ago as a summer job driving bus tours around the Highlands whilst ski instructing in the Alps during the winter months. This gave me the guiding 'bug' and decided to be a full time Blue Badge Tourist Guide all year round. I haven't looked back and feel like I have the best job in the world meeting people from all over the world and showing them this incredible country. I take pride on bringing Scotland's stories, landscape and history to life and no matter whether it is by vehicle or by foot there is an abundance waiting to be discovered! My goal is to provide great long lasting memories for my groups and like to deliver my tours in an entertaining and informative way. Scotland is forever evolving with many events and Movie/TV shows taking place and I like to keep myself updated with where things are taking place and where those shows were shot. Golf is a passion (though I'm not very good!) as is the outdoors and walking many of Scotland's long distance marked trails. For visitors with Scottish heritage I like nothing more than helping them find where their ancestors were from. I also have experience in helping host corporate events, deliver specialist tours (golf, whisky and much more..), itinerary building and leading Press trips and FAM trips. I look forward to taking you on tour! Testimonial: I organised a guided tour with Andy, and his a colleague of his, last week for a group of Syrian men who have recently moved to Edinburgh. He gave us a fantastic tour, and immediately grasped that the guys wanted a quick sprint through the best bits of Scottish and Edinburgh's history, and pitched his tour perfectly. He also managed it brilliantly in conjunction with our translator. They both, were friendly, welcoming and encyclopedic in his knowledge: And had so many great stories at his fingertips, he made the past come to life for our group. I've lived here for over 20 years and never heard the story of Half hangit Maggie before (see for yourself in the Grassmarket!) Huge thanks to Andy and colleague for helping start our Syrian friends' Scottish history education, and for making them feel so welcome. Thank you, Regards Sue
