About Me

I have lived in Orkney for over 18 years and still not explored all the islands have to offer. Not a very good advert for an 'expert' Tourist Guide - but it just goes to show how much there is to see! I qualified as a STGA Regional Affiliate in 2004 but keep my skills up to date and I am familiar with other island groups: Shetland and The Western Isles. I am available year round as a "step-on" guide and have recently made a few changes to help us all remain healthy and safe during these challenging times. I will be concentrating on outdoor Orkney's nature and have undertaken comprehensive tour risk assessments to see what mitigation I can put in place to minimise those risks. I ask all potential clients to read and understand this document (which I will send by email) before confirming a booking. However, my tours remain relaxed and informal and offer plenty opportunity to investigate and daydream, to see huge landscapes and very small wild plants - and to take some creative photographs. I am passionately interested in the wider environment of land, sea and sky and in conserving Orkney's biodiversity. #slowadventuring #staysafe #goodtogo
