Born into a rural farming community in NE Scotland and having completed a BSc in Agriculture at Aberdeen University, my career took a different direction when my hobby of rallying led to a full-time role in motorsport as Business Manager for Scotland’s World Rally Champion – Colin McRae.
Having travelled the world for many years, I realised that I was indeed fortunate to live in a beautiful country with such a rich history and heritage.
This love of Scotland was reinforced when I was given the opportunity to be a Manager on the Queen’s Baton Relay for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Over 40 days we were able to explore every corner of Scotland as we recognised 4,000 special people who had contributed to their local communities as they carried the baton across all 32 Local Authority areas of Scotland.
The journey ignited a passion for Scotland and what it has to offer and the realisation that I wanted to share this with visitors to our country.
Two years learning the ropes as a driver-guide for a large national company fuelled my desire to broaden and extend my knowledge base and I have recently completed the comprehensive STGA Blue Badge course.
I am a keen sports person with an interest in a wide variety of sports and events across the country.
My aim is to provide a personal experience tailored to their interests - some of the highlights that I would love to introduce visitors to include:
A warm and friendly welcome, thousands of years of history, local culture, amazing castles, breath-taking landscapes, stunning golf courses, our diverse flora and fauna, traditional music, a rich variety of local foods and of course a wee dram of our world-famous national drink!
Scotland really does have something for everyone. Join me and we can head off the beaten track, savour every taste and enjoy every vista together.
