About Me

Delighted to meet you all, my name is Davina Gibson Young; both as a born and bred Scot; I qualified as a Scottish Tourist Guide in 1991.
In my pre STGA person I worked in Admin & Sales for Toye, Kenning & Spencer I was also the Secretary for Greyfriars Church & some years in a Lawyer’s office in Edinburgh
It is a real joy for me to be able to interpret Scotland’s wide and long heritage, her proud ancient history, dramatic landscapes, coasts and islands for our visitors.
Then there are the dramatic Castles, Battlefields, Glens and Mountains all with tons of mystery and atmosphere to delve into and explain and encourage visitors to engage with them all.
I am lucky enough to work a lot with US folks and have visited a good few times and feel a shared affinity for sure.
For the past 20 yrs I have worked with young Americans who come to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival of the Arts. Over the month they have my admiration for their energy and as dedication grows - as does their love for bonnie Scotland and its people - the feeling is mutual!
I very much enjoy working with people and am so fortunate my Guiding role offers me that opportunity.

Operators and their clients often comment on my positive delivery and enthusiastic lively manner!
