Going to school in Linlithgow, birth place of Mary Queen of Scots, lead to an inevitable interest in her amazing story and in Scottish history in general. Having completed the blue badge course, I am now equally fascinated by and have acquired knowledge of other aspects of Scotland, such as: geology, architecture, wildlife and art. It's all fascinating.
I have spent most of my working life teaching French, German and Spanish, mainly to adults. I love speaking foreign languages and I am passionate about my country. I find it exciting to share my knowledge of Scotland, the country, its people, customs and culture which I have acquired through growing up here and through formal study. To do this in one of my foreign languages enhances the experience for me, although I also enjoy speaking in English to English speaking guests from all over the world.
I have been learning to play Celtic tunes on the fiddle for three years (if you are unlucky, you might hear me play!) and, more recently, learning Scottish Gaelic. Come and let me tell you all about it.
