Having lived most of my adult life in Scotland, I was eager to learn more about the beautiful country in which I lived and this led me to complete the Blue Badge Guide Training course run by Edinburgh University on behalf of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association (STGA). Since qualifying as a guide in 1995, I have been sharing the secrets of this fascinating country with people from all over the world.

I have also been the General Manager of the STGA and served as a Board Member. This has given me an extensive knowledge of Scotland and of the Scottish tourism industry.

Initially qualifying with a degree in French and Economics from Edinburgh University, I worked for many years in the steel industry, involved in European Sales. After completing a postgraduate MBA at Edinburgh University, I changed direction and worked for several years in the stockbroking industry.

I recently qualified as a TEFL teacher.

With a Dutch father, a Swiss mother, born in England and married to a Scot, I feel truly European. I live in Edinburgh. My two grown-up sons live in London and Vietnam
