Dorothy Rodger

Languages:

Hello, Welcome to Scotland! I look forward to helping you make the most of your visit, whatever your interests, and wherever you would like to go.

My name is Dorothy Rodger and I grew up, was educated, and have worked in Scotland, most of my life. I have finally settled in beautiful Highland Perthshire right in the heart of Scotland, so ideally placed for reaching anywhere.

I started guiding 3 years ago, however the theme of opening people’s eyes to the world around them, and enabling them to make the most of those opportunities, runs throughout my career. I am a geographer and am fascinated by people and place. I worked in urban fringe countryside management in England for 10 years, but knew it was time to come home when working with visitors who had never seen stars!

I travelled extensively across Scotland as a public support officer for WWF and then as a fundraising manager working with communities, and companies, for Cancer Research UK. I have built up an extensive knowledge of this amazing country whether city, town or countryside and I would love to share it with you.

When I’m not guiding I enjoy local walks, cycling, swimming, yoga, gardening, and a Gin & Tonic. My favourite place in the world remains the West Coast of Scotland on a sunny day!
