I am proud to be an "adoptive Scot". I was born in Northern Ireland and settled in Edinburgh at the age of 21. My first career was an Occupational Therapist and I enjoyed this very much. When our chidren went to school I went to college as a mature student and studied languages and tourism. I qualified as a Scottish Blue Badge Guide in 1995 and guide in English, French and German. My husband, Stephen (also from Northern Ireland) is a professional guide too. We chose our new careers because we love the open road. When our children were young we were keen motor caravaners and every weekend was an exciting adventure. Each year we have the pleasure of meeting new people and sharing in their voyage of discovery. When we aren't guiding we explore the rest of the world. We have travelled extensively in Europe, USA and Canada and hope to visit New Zealand soon.
