My full name is John Robert Mackay Harbour and I'm wearing the Mackay tartan. I am a Blue Badge guide and I offer guided tours of Scotland for groups of up to 4 in my own luxury Mercedes GLB or 7 people in a luxury Mercedes V Class. I also offer guided tours for groups of up to 19 people in a Mercedes Sprinter. I travel all over Scotland and when you contact me we will work out a personal itinerary to ensure you get the best out of Scotland whether you are here for a few days or a few weeks. My professional life was at sea and, as a Commander in the Royal Navy, I’ve seen the world. From Rio to Australia and from the USA to Japan, I’ve made great friends along the way. I’ve witnessed history in the making, seeing South Africa during and after apartheid, and Berlin before and after the fall of the Wall. I’ve even welcomed HRH Prince Charles aboard my ships, HMS CHARYBDIS and LEWISTON. I am also a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) This experience and background will ensure that you get a guide with experience in life as well as experience in touring, even to the most remote parts of Scotland.
