Originally from the Netherlands, after spending almost 15 years on Shetland as a holiday I finally moved to my favourite place. Folk music, great outdoors, Northern Lights and very friendly people! Currently I live on the island of Yell. As a past time I now sing (and play guitar) with da ShantY Yellmen, as the name says, an all male shanty choir.
As a former teacher of economics and computing on the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum, a Grammer school in Eindhoven (NL) with language skills (German, English, Dutch, Flemmish and limited French) guiding, that is sharing my enthousiasm for Shetland with visitors came natural.
