In a former life, my career was spent in TV, first as a journalist with the network news then as the programme boss with a broadcaster for the South of England.. I've sat on several influential Boards, worked alongside celebrities, presenters and politicians, made some award winning shows and covered some astonishing news stories.. Now I lecture MA students part-time at Glasgow University in communications
My passion now is the history and landscape of Scotland, since moving here 8years.. I love walking the hills of the Trossachs around Loch Lomond where we live. Everywhere you go in Scotland there are hidden treasures, secret views and magnificent wildlife, which are a pleasure to show visitors. As a history buff, Scotland's past is an extraordinary complex story entwined with the rest of the British Isles, full of deadly rivalries, heroes & villains, castles galore and world beating innovation.
My 'beat' is Scotland but living close to Glasgow allows me often to celebrate with others this wonderful city - full of surprises, world renowned galleries and artists , glorious architecture, fabulous restaurants and lovely people.
I look forward to sharing all this and more with you.
