About Me

I worked for 25 years reporting local issues for BBC Radio Orkney.I also run an organic farm in the West Mainland looking after a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle and a flock of sheep. I'm married with two children and two grandchildren Over my 25 years of broadcasting I have built up a wealth of local knowledge and have covered major events such as the Battle of Jutland commemorations and the International Island Games – a multi- sport event that sees islands from Bermuda to Rhodes, and from Falkland to Hitra in Norway, compete against one another, as well as the smaller British Isles including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. My forty years of experience as a farmer also gives me a deep knowledge of the countryside and those who farm in Orkney..
