About Me

I am a fully accredited Blue Badge Guide, born and brought up in Glasgow, but now based in St Andrews and Edinburgh. I offer a variety of tours throughout Scotland, which can be tailored to meet your individual needs
Following a career in HR and management with national organisations I decided to change direction completely. This decision was prompted by my love of languages and the Arts. Consequently, I studied French, Italian and Art History at the University of St Andrews and spent my Erasmus year at the Sorbonne, the University of Paris. I had the memorable experience of graduating alongside Prince William together with Kate Middleton.
This was followed by post-graduate research on Caravaggio, the Italian Baroque artist, much of which was carried out in France and Italy where my language skills proved most useful.
During my student years I had a summer job with Historic Scotland, conducting tours in French and Italian when required. I also had the opportunity of visiting many of the Historic Scotland sites throughout Scotland. This experience prompted me to embark on the STGA training course, which would allow me to share my passion for Scotland with others and to be, above all, an ambassador for this wonderful country.
Scotland is not just about castles and cathedrals however, but boasts some of the most superb scenery in the world, has a rich heritage and vibrant international cultural scene, extraordinary fauna and flora, magnificent world championship golf courses and sporting venues, first class hotels and visitor centres, to say nothing of the fine distilleries producing Scotland’s national drink and the country’s largest export. In recent years a plethora of fine restaurants has sprung up offering the best of Scottish local produce. Her seven cities have their own distinctive character but with something unique to offer the visitor. Furthermore, the people are genuinely open and friendly and renowned for their hospitality. If you would like to share any of these experiences with me I would be delighted to hear from you. I will do my very best to look after you.
