I was born and raised in Speyside in the heart of Scotland’s malt whisky country. Here my family heritage spans whisky and the traditional fishing communities of the Moray Firth coast. I’m a whisky insider myself, having worked in several world-renowned Speyside distilleries, gaining in-depth knowledge of the craft and passion of whisky-making and with a few stories to tell!

I’m a professional Green Badge Guide with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, and hold a Certificate of Higher Education with Distinction in Tourist Guiding. In addition, I am World Host accredited for customer service. My whisky experience includes stints with the actual production of the amber spirit and with the whisky makers/blenders, as well as in-depth whisky tasting training (who said work has to be boring?). I am qualified in Spirits (with Distinction) through the international Wine and Spirit Education Trust. My main career was in university management, including working in Kosovo as part of a European Union team. My background also includes a PhD in French, roles with City of Edinburgh tourism and running a successful au pair agency.

Now I’ve come home to my roots in Speyside, drawn back by this beautiful region. I love being outdoors, taking photos, delving into the past and exploring family history, and of course some whisky appreciation! I was brought up with the rich local Scots dialect, called Doric, and I’ll transform you into a real Speysider with some essential phrases to impress your friends.

Most importantly - I love where I live – it’s why I came home. Whether your interest is whisky, family history or stunning landscapes and fascinating history, it’s all here on Speyside. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to share my Speyside with you, so that you have a true insider experience and take home priceless memories.
